Growing Nations Exchange Project brings Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women together with women from other cultures and communities to share knowledge, culture, experiences and ways of caring for Country and community.
Beginning with connections between women in Australia and Northern Thailand, Growing Nations is about building relationships first — and seeing what can grow from them.

Where Growing Nations Began
Growing Nations began with a simple idea: what might happen if women from different Countries and cultures had the opportunity to spend time together, share knowledge and learn from one another?
During a visit to Northern Thailand, we spent time in communities, met women and learned about some of the ways knowledge, skills and experiences are being shared — from food growing and weaving to community learning and local enterprise.
We also had opportunities to share a little about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, culture, Country and community in Australia.
These early experiences sparked an idea: could we create opportunities for women to come together, learn from one another and see where those connections might lead?
That idea became the Growing Nations Exchange Project.
