Brian Forrester is a Pertame (Southern Arrernte) man from Mparntwe (Alice Springs) in the Northern Territory, with strong family and cultural connections to Wallace Rockhole Community. His upbringing was shaped by time spent on Country with Elders, where he participated in traditional hunting, food gathering, and cultural activities. These experiences continue to shape the respectful and practical way he works alongside Aboriginal people and communities today. Brian continued his education in Alice Springs at St Philip’s College and Anzac Hill High School before receiving an academic scholarship to attend The Geelong College in Geelong, Victoria. He later undertook further study at Deakin University before returning to Alice Springs. Over almost two decades, Brian has built extensive experience across construction, education, employment, federal government, health, remote service delivery, and Aboriginal hostels. His work has been grounded in community engagement, cultural knowledge, and a commitment to strengthening outcomes for Aboriginal people and communities. Brian is currently a Project Officer with Katherine West Health Board for the “Men Preventing Tech-Based Abuse Against Women and Children” program. He is serves as a Director of Keep Our Ways Strong Indigenous Corporation (KOWS IC), and as a Senior Consultant – Community Engagement, Leadership & Cultural Governance, with TM Collective Consulting and the Deadly Thinking Program, supporting Indigenous people to address personal, institutional, and cultural challenges nationally. In addition, Brian has worked with iTalk Studios for the past seven to eight years, contributing voice-over and scriptwriting services to a range of projects. Brian brings a calm, thoughtful approach to his work and is passionate about supporting communities, organisations and leaders to create practical, culturally informed solutions that build confidence, capability and long-term change.
